About
Miss Shreya Haldar is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and the King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor. She specialises in the treatment and management of glaucoma and complex cataracts and is glaucoma lead for West Berkshire.
Miss Haldar graduated from Imperial College London medical school with a further BSc in Management from the prestigious Imperial College Business school.
She undertook her medical and surgical training on the Imperial College rotation completing the higher medical specialist exams before embarking on her ophthalmology career.
Miss Haldar completed her specialist ophthalmic surgical training in the Oxford deanery. She was trained by pioneers in modern cataract surgery and completed a sub-specialist fellowship in glaucoma.
Skilled in traditional glaucoma surgeries (trabeculectomy and aqueous shunt surgery), Miss Haldar has been active in adopting novel laser and minimally invasive glaucoma surgical techniques.
She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).
Miss Haldar is regional representative for Oxford and sits on the council for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Miss Haldar is passionate about teaching; she is both an educational and clinical supervisor and is actively involved in training young ophthalmologists. She regularly lectures to Surgical Sciences MSc and BSc students at King’s College London.
She is married to an Associate Professor in Urology and has two young children who keep her busy. She enjoys swimming, sewing, and baking.
